Senior Minister-Brad Seevers

I am married to Kim Seevers.  We celebrated 34 years of marriage in August. We have one daughter.  Her name is Jessica and she and her family live in Northern Kentucky. Kim is an middle school teacher in Lancaster.  We enjoy hiking in the mountains, body surfing at the ocean, and travelling to Great American ball park to watch the Cincinnati Reds.  We can’t get enough of Skyline Chili and Graeter’s ice cream. When I’m not involved in ministry, you can find me hunting, fishing, golfing, or hanging out with my grandson’s Kasen and Keaten.

We began our ministry with the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in January 2010.

Core Values

Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace-based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance.  Church health becomes reality when God’s people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ’s Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism We faithfully support worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry.  After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths.  We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

Discipleship.  We do not want you to “get religion” here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster.  We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience.  In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

Social Conscience.  We place high value on the sanctity of human life, Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
 Mission

TO LOVE GOD

TO LOVE PEOPLE

TO BRING
GLORY TO GOD WITH OUR LIVES
How we Began

The Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster, Ohio began in 1900 with about 20 disciples.  They first held a prayer meeting in the home of Joseph Newlun who resided on Chestnut Street. They continued to hold prayer meetings for several weeks in various homes.

It was on July 1, 1900 that they held their first church service and became known as the First Church of Christ of Lancaster. In January of 1901, they held a revival in the Baptist church building which sat on the corners of Columbus & Mulberry streets, which is where the Essex Wire Corporation now stands. As a result of that meeting, the church membership increased to about 60.  J.H. Bristor who held the revival would then become the first minister of the church.

Well much has happened since our early days.  The church would eventually move to its current location in Lancaster and renamed the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ.

God has answered the prayers of our founders many times as we now have a membership over 300.  We have trained men to travel abroad through the United States and around the globe.  The amount of people who have served the Lord full-time as a minister or missionary are too  numerous to tell. Yes, God is good!

He continues to use this church as a hope center and a place of refuge.  He continues to change lives and provides nurture for every family that comes through our doors.

It is our hope that you too will become a vital part of our rich heritage.  Join us in this cause as we speak the truth in love to those who are part of this wonderful community and as we point others to know the Savior of the world.facc pic
